Luana Mallet is a singer and songwriter from Rio who is passionate about jazz and Brazilian music. Born in a musical home, she began her musical practice with the violin at the age of 6, going through some instruments before singing.

​

She joined a band named Digital Groove (Recife / PE) in 2010 for the recording and tour to release the album “Manual”.

​

She participated in the first edition of the program “The Voice Brasil” in 2012. In 2013, the song "Longe" (partnership with Ana Carolina and Glauco Fernandes) was released on the Faro MPB radio program.

 

In 2014, Luana was invited to the program "Compositores Unidos" on Canal Brasil - where she presented the song "Quem" in partnership with singer Jorge Vercillo. Still in 2014, she released the EP "SemiAcústica" accompanied by a string quartet, designed the costumes for the play "O Pequeno Príncipe in Concert" at the Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro and debuted as an actress in the role of the Little Prince's Rose.

In 2015, the song "Quem" was released on the album "Vida É Arte" by Jorge Vercillo in a duet acclaimed by radio stations across Brazil. At the same time, Luana joined the jazz scene in Rio de Janeiro, performing at traditional venues such as TribOz, the legendary Beco das Garrafas, Sala Baden Powell, Blue Note Rio, Jazz At The Maze, among others.

In 2017, she released the singles "Carnaval" and "Ela", and in January 2018 the single "Vai Passar" with arrangements by Adriano Souza and string arrangements by Glauco Fernandes – all tracks are available on the main digital music platforms. Still in 2018, Luana participated in the “International Jazz Day” TV show at Canal Brasil and debuted the show “Tributo a Emílio Santiago”, at Blue Note Rio, alongside the musicians who accompanied the singer. Luana pays homage to great names in Brazilian music such as Leny Andrade, accompanied by the group Baião de 5 and Carlos Lyra, accompanied by the great pianist Osmar Milito.

​

In 2020, she joined the project “Emoriô-o Bloco Nagô”, a tribute to João Donato that had his participation during rehearsals and debut.

​

Currently, Luana is part of “Tributo a Raul de Souza” - a production by Carol Rosman with artistic consultancy from Yolaine Souza - and the Arthur Dutra Group - by the Brazilian composer, vibraphonist, drummer, percussionist and writer, Arthur Dutra.
